Scramble Wednesday

This mid-week Scramble is a perfect CLASSIC grade 1 scramble terrain on Y Gribin.

This Scramble is a perfect introduction to scramble terrain for anyone with Crib Goch and Crib y Ddysgl in their sights.

Y Gribin rises between Cwm Bochlwyd and Cwm Cneifion to join the plateau between the two main Glyderau summits. The views are incredibly breathtaking.

We will meet at 90am Ogwen and tackle the path that takes us to the start of the exhilerating ridge scramble that is Y Gribin (The Gribin Ridge) which summits the Glyderau plateau. Beginners to scrambling welcome, you will need a good level of fitness with the ability to take steps up and down through rocky terrain. A summit to either Glyder Fach or Glyder Fawr is optional depending on group ability! This scramble path teeters on and off a slightly exposed line. There are some fun climbing sections so great footwork and a good calm approach is key.

Who is it for?

Fit and current mountain walkers free of injury. Expect some physical sections that require effort. There are aspects of height exposure on this route.

Weather Policy

If the weather forecast isn't looking great for the scheduled date, don't worry! You will:

1. Be offered an exhilarating alternative scramble route that may be sheltered from the forecast conditions.

2. Get the chance to reschedule! Attend the same scramble or choose another exciting Wednesday scramble of your choice.

3. If you can't make it another date after a weather cancellation, no problem! You can request a refund, which will be issued at 3.5% less than the total booking fee (due to banking system charges).

I always aim to make any changes to the planned day by 6 PM on Tuesday evening, and you will receive a notification via email. In certain extreme weather conditions, the event may be canceled on the morning of the day itself. Please keep this in mind and have a backup plan if you have traveled. The weather is beyond my control.
