About the event
SATURDAY: This scramble day is a perfect introduction to scramble terrain on Tryfan's south side. A mixture of navigation, route reading, and tactical movement skills for steeper terrain, without the committing exposure of other classic grade 1s.
We will meet at 9:00 am in Ogwen and tackle the scramble path that takes us to the summit via the grade 1 terrain to the south of the mountain. Beginners to scrambling are welcome; you will need a moderate/good level of fitness with the ability to take steps up and down through rocky terrain. You will already be a regular hill walker.
Route: Tryfan South ridge
Length: approx 7km
Difficulty: moderate/steep ascent & descent
Time: 7 hours
